Fathers Day

We had a nice and relaxing Fathers Day, spending it with our family. The day was a bit chilly here and actually had some rain and thunder (which we never get)....we went to Church and then to PopPop's grave where we brought flowers (Angel LOVES putting them in the water) and we said a prayer and Angel sang him a song. Then we headed over to my parents house where we enjoyed the day....both the girls (and Aunt Caitlin) enjoyed a nap and the guys got some golf watching and baseball watching time....we had a nice dinner and desserts and Jason is very excited about his new double jogging stroller!! I am so blessed to be living so close to my dad still and so blessed to have such an incredible husband who daily makes sacrifices for his girls and does it so lovingly....love you lots and Happy Fathers Day!

Saturday Morning Sweets

Workin the Wedgits

My mom had gotten Angelica a set of the wonderful WEDGITS a bit ago, but Emma is starting to LOVE them. She will spend a long time building them up and knocking them down. If she gets to a point where one doesn't fit, then she knocks them down and starts over. It is fun to watch her little mind and hands work and we look forward to getting the additional sets to go with them. I highly recommend these for kids!! (and the music in the background is BOZ, which the girls LOVE and mom sometimes has to turn off because the songs get stuck in my head!!...he is like the green Christian version of Barney)

So Proud

I have been working on identifying the letters of the alphabet for awhile now with Angelica....she definitely likes and knows some better than others. Last week, we were working really hard on writing the letter "A". I did tracing and coloring and silly ways to remember how to write it. Saturday, I was having Angel color thank you notes she needed to get out and all of a sudden she said, "Mama, look I did my name!" I looked over at the card and she had drawn the letter "A" all by herself!!! I was so proud of her and then she signed her letter A on all the thank you cards. Caitlin.....her first letter "A" is on the back of your card, so I may steal it back to keep in her baby book!! Now we are working on "B"....so much to learn and love watching it all unfold!!!

Our Garden Helpers

This year, Jason rented a 10x20 and 10x10 garden plots that our local community offers in a new garden patch they created. The dirt was not great so Jason spent a lot of time tilling it over, getting rocks out, and putting new garden soil and compost in it...and finally got all his vegetables that he had grown in the greenhouse in the dirt!! Angel and Emma have enjoyed helping go check on the garden and water it, plus there is a park they built for kids that they enjoy visiting as well. So we hope to have lots of produce starting in July...probably more than we know what to do with!!!!

Pretty in Pink

A week or so ago, a friend and I went to get pedicures done. I had not had one or painted my toes since my sister's wedding February 2008......so Angel was very curious about me painting them and what color I would choose. She enjoyed looking at them so much she wanted to paint hers too....so the other night she sat very still and we picked out a pretty pink color...she hasn't wanted to wear shoes or socks much so that she can see her "pink toes".

An artist's interpretation...

Angel has been loving painting lately...although we usually have to try and do it when Emma is sleeping because she would just love to get messy with the paints!! Angel showed me this painting and when I asked her what it was she responded, "Mama, it is a merry-go-round or course!" Silly me, of course it is!

Small Successes

I have been wanting to do this for awhile now, so here is my first contribution: (you list three sucesses no matter how small that you feel you reached each week)


1) Had my 18 week OB appointment, heard a healthy heart beat of 150 and scheduled the big ultrasound for Friday, June 26th. Thanks for the prayers and please keep them coming!

2) Did a major grocery shopping...you know the kind when you wait forever for stuff and then realize you need everything...so thanks to my sisters for watching the kids and allowing me to get this done! (My hubby thanks you as well!)

3) Have gotten caught up on a lot of picture organization. I backup pictures on CDs from Costco (like negatives today) and then print of thumbnail versions and label CDs and papers with numbers so I can always find pictures easily. Will have to take pics to explain better....but this has helped a lot with digital pictures to always find the ones you need and keep it all organized. Now to finish my albums and scrapbooks....and trying to think of a neat way to organize some pics for the kiddies to take with them one day...any ideas? Also managed to clean and organize the entire pantry and video cabinet!

Baby Update

I had an appointment yesterday (mom and Caitlin thanks for watching the girlies and Alli got come in with me and hear the heart beat!) and heard the heart beat again.....love hearing it...it was around 150 and I went back and checked the girls records and it was in the 150s at this stage as well...so who knows?! The ultrasound is scheduled for two weeks...Friday the 26th in the afternoon...we will keep you posted! Keep the prayers coming!

Interesting Read....

...about sleep schedules, nap times etc. This is something that for us changes with different ages and phases of the kiddies....and changes also with seasons and busy times and events in our lives. I do feel very fortunate that because I stay at home we can be a little more flexible with our schedule. I agreed with a lot of Danielle's and the other comments that sometimes bed time is earlier, sometimes later.....naps can fluctuate but for us, they are a MUST each day. I have changed their schedule several times when there were certain events or trips that I know I needed them to be awake and happy for....the important thing I believe is that they get enough sleep...there are so many kids these days that do not get enough...so enjoy THIS READ, some good tips and tricks that you may be able to use at some time or another. I have a feeling that when this new baby arrives, I will be re-adjusting things again!!

Meltdown Moment

On Sunday when we were driving home from church, Angelica had a meltdown. When the tantrum and screaming wouldn't stop, Miss Emma, who was watching her with that "what is your problem" look...started saying, "Gel-Ka (how she says Angelica), stop it! Gel-Ka, stop it! Cryin, stop!" Angelica, unfortunately, didn't listen. That night when we were at my parent's house for our traditional Sunday dinners...we were repeating this story to everyone. Angelica was listening and when I finished telling everyone what Emma was saying, Angelica added "Yes, but I didn't stop." We all started laughing...but at least she is honest!!

Hot Summer Days

Last week we had three very hot days....up to 90+ and without AC we get pretty toasty around here. And with the girls getting over being sick and with colds, we decided to stay at home...so we enjoyed several afternoons of eating picnics outside and playing in the pools and sprinklers...Emma liked the elephant nose fountain and Angel LOVED the slide!

Tried not to Laugh...

....at church this morning. After mass was over, Father was making some announcements and said we were going to watch a short 2 minute video clip on the Feast of Corpus Christi and the procession, which our church will be doing next week. So they were setting up a screen and when Emma saw it, she announced and started repeating with eager excitement "Show, Show!" I was trying not to laugh, but she was so excited and thought she was going to see a movie or something, Angel was a little confused why this was happening in Church. When it was over, Emma started saying, "Uh-oh, uh-oh, Show go?" I am glad this does not happen every week!!!

4 Down, 5 To Go

Months that is of pregnancy!! I have an appointment on Tuesday and then we are scheduling an ultrasound for about two weeks from now!! So we will keep you posted, very anxious to SEE this little one....thinking I might be starting to feel movement...can't wait for those little kicks!! Thanks to everyone for the prayers....Angelica wants the baby to come out now...she is ready to "help!"

Memorial Day

We had beautiful weather on Memorial Day....so Jason went to our garden plots and spent several hours tilling the ground up and adding new dirt. Then we all went out to a local park and enjoyed some play time...it was a bit windy and breezy by the water. The girls love throwing rocks in the water and hate to leave it. Then we went and got an ice cream treat and went to another park to enjoy that. We ended the day enjoying a nice dinner at my parents house...lots of fresh air, and too bad it had to end with miss Emma getting a fever...and now we have spent a couple days with both the girls having fevers and runny noses. No other symptoms so hoping it is just a virus and cold. Looking forward to lots more of beautiful weekends ahead!

Loved the Carnival

There is a small little carnival that set up about 5 minutes from us, so we decided to check it out with the girls the other night....it was a HUGE HIT. Angelica and Emma's eyes were so wide and excited and taking in all the festivities. Angelica was so excited and wanted to ride EVERY ride there was and loved every second of it. Emma wanted to as well, but wasn't tall enough for any of them...so she walked around with a sad look of disappointment constantly asking, "On it?" Luckily they let Jason ride down the big slide with her and both the girls loved the Carousel so we went on that twice. They also enjoyed going fishing with Papa and got to pick out a stuffed animal...which Angel has now added her Nemo fish to the handful of animals she already sleeps with!! We bought some cotton candy that they got to try for the first time and they were hooked!!! It was an easy way to drop some cash, but the excitement and fun we had was well worth it...Angel has pretty much talked about it for the last three days!! Looking forward to our big Kitsap County Fair in August!!

Emma's 18 month check up

Emma checked out with a clean bill of health. The doctor was surprised that she was talking so much and could count to 10...but hey, she has a big sister to keep up with! Emma even managed to sing the doctor "Old MacDonald"!! She weighed in at 23 pounds (25-50%)and is 32.75 inches tall (75-90%). A healthy and growing girl, what more could we ask for?!! Just can't believe how big they get so fast!!

Summer Hair Cut

I meant to take a before picture...but as many of you know, Angel's hair was getting SO LONG and in desperate need of a good trim. So with a bowl of skittles in her hands, she stood very still as I cut about 3 inches off of her hair....and think it came out alright!! At least it looks and feels much healthier!!

Bath Colors

Angel saw some pics of her friends Lili and Nicholas that had some neat bath water color fun and wanted to join in!!! They enjoy picking out which color they will have each night!!
