My sentiments exactly....

...too much Halloween festivities!!

Our little elephant...

Angelica was an elephant tonight for Halloween. She loved the costume and making the elephant sound. We celebrated by making a trip to see PopPop and give him some goodies...

then off to the church for the All Saints Party (although we had Angel be the elephant from Noah's Ark)

...and then stopped by friends to say trick or treat! (Sorry if Angel left your table a mess Alan and Linda!) Enjoy the pics and sorry for the sideways video!! Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin & Cookie Time

Well, finally last night we got around to carving our pumpkins and baking and decorating our Halloween costume. We have had my youngest sister Alli help us every year since we have been married and it is quite fun. Mom and dad came over for dinner...which if I haven't posted this recipe before...here is it and check it out...WHITE CHICKEN CHILI. I used this COOKIE recipe and ICING recipe this year and they are both great!! I made my own pumpkin seed recipe of melted butter, seasoned salt, brown sugar and Worchestershire sauce....and it is good!!Grandpa was making Angel laugh a lot and if I can figure out how to transfer things from my video camera I will have to include some footage. Enjoy the pics...Angel had lots of fun eating the cookie dough, getting messy decorating her own cookies, but wasn't too fond of the scarecrows!! Will post some pics from tonight's festivities later!! Happy Halloween!!

Now I like it!

We found Angel playing in her infant car seat (the one she didn't like when she was an infant) for almost half an hour the other day when we had it out getting ready for the new baby. Wish she would have enjoyed it that much months ago!!

Sidebar

I removed the neat music feature I had added, becuase it was causing some issues with people having to wait a long time to view the site. I also added under the baby countdown, the link to Baby Hartsell's website which I will be keeping updated with journal entries and pics and such. Thanks to those who have left her/us messages!!

Last Soccer Trip...

This Saturday we traveled once more to Portland to watch my sister play soccer. It was the conference championship game and they won 4-0!! Caitlin also was given an award for making the First Team All-Conference. Basically they chose 11 players from all the conference teams for the First Team....GO CAITLIN!! It was good to see her and her team is off to Regionals in Montana this week, but we will not be making that 12 hour trip. The ride to Portland was long enough with a toddler and an eight month pregnant woman! Luckily, my husband has lots of patience for the several bathroom stops we had to make. Enjoy the pics!

Support with Prayer if not Popcorn...

Well, unfortunately the movie Bella is not being released anywhere near me....so while I won't be able to see this great film with some good popcorn, I will be praying for it's opening weekend starting tomorrow. Please join in prayer that this is a huge success and more theaters will show it...it is already working miracles and saving babies around the world. Check it out at: www.bellathemovie.com

Great Post...

I had to share this POST I saw on Carrie and Tom's site....ENJOY. I had a great laugh!!

Fall time

I love this time of year when the weather is getting cooler and hot apple cider and hot chocolate just sound yummy. Slowly the inside of our house is starting to look like Fall...but a couple weeks ago we managed to get the outside flowers planted and decorations up. Angelica is just now warming up to the idea of the scarecrows on our front porch!! Hopefully soon we will be making cookies and carving pumpkins...so more pics to follow!!

Baby Hartsell Website

We have decided to do the Babyjellybean website again for this baby. We loved doing Angelica's and it is so much fun to look back at it. The site allows you to get an Archived CD of the entire website you created when you close it. So all the pics, messages from people, journal entries etc are all saved and look just like the site did. We keep it in Angel's baby book and I think she will treasure it when she gets older. So take a look.....you should be able to click HERE and get there. If not, go to www.babyjellybeans.com and then search for First Name: Baby and Last Name: Hartsell. Enjoy and please leave her messages!!

Belated Happy Birthdays...

I realized that I haven't been posting Happy Birthdays to our nieces and nephews....which made me also realize I need updated pics on all of them!! But this past month we had several birthdays to celebrate:Olivia turned the big ONE on September 19th
Miranda turned THREE on October 5th
Lexi (also Jason's goddaughter) turned FOUR on October 18th
Tyler turned 11 on the 20th
Happy Birthday guys, we miss and love you all!!

Testing...testing...123

Let's just say that Angelica is learning that she can now test the limits and rules that she has so obediently followed...she says it all with her eyes and facial expressions usually and mom and dad try not to laugh as we correct her...luckily she is so cute!! The other day this was so funny....
Angelica decided she was going to fight taking a nap for some reason. So she was quite fussy and I brought her into the computer room to play while I tried to get soem book work done. I told her she had to stay in the room with mommy if she wasn't going to take a nap. At one point...she walked over to the doorway, looked at me and with eyebrows raised and eyes staring right at mine...slowly dragged one foot over the open doorway area just to see if I really meant what I said....I can tell these toddler years are going to be lots of fun!!!

Big helper...

The other day we were trying to get ready to go do some errands. Jason and I were with Angelica in her room and told her we needed to change her diaper before we left. So she decided to help...she walked over to her diaper basket, pulled one out...opened it up...put in on the floor and sat her little bum right down on it and pulled it up around her. Then she looked at us as if to say "OK guys, now that that is done, can we go?" We laughed so hard....amazing how fast they learn and catch on to things!!

Pumpkin Patch...

Today we took advantage of the beautiful warm weather and went to a little local pumpkin patch. Let's see...Angel decided she was much more interested in picking out rocks and playing in dirt than picking pumpkins...she loved watching the goats and didn't like the scarecrows...

Mary Herring's Wedding...

Yesterday we attended the wedding of Mary Herring and Thomas Beuschel...it was a fun and beautiful event...

First Hair Cut...

Well, I finally got the courage to cut Angel's hair Friday night. It was starting to get very long and stringy looking on her neck and the top part finally had grown in enough to even up....so here are before and after shots and several in between. FYI - the Bumbo seat worked great to keep her sitting while I cut...along with a few M&Ms and Barney on the TV!!

Spoiled by Aunty Megs...

...is when Angelica needs a tub to start to store her Hanna Andersson clothes in. Here she is sporting the cute jacket that she loves the hat!!

Sleeping like an Angel...

31 weeks...and well....um...

...let's just hope it is a strong healthy baby making my tummy grow so big!! Angel loves kissing the baby and patting her mommy's big bump.
(looking at these pics, I realized I really need a hair cut!)

Birthday pics and recipes

We had a fun time celebrating Jason's birthday. He loves his gift mom made him as you can see from the picture. Angel had lots of fun helping with the festivities. Jason had his annual birthday Mexican Casserole, Cornbread and I made a new White Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake...SO GOOD!! (click on them to get recipes)

Saint Therese of Lisieux

Today is the celebration of the feast day of Saint Therese, known as the Little Flower. Click here for some great information on her story. I chose Saint Therese as my confirmation name and have always had a special devotion to her. Some great books are videos are: Story of a Soul, Story of a Family ( I really loved this book!!), and the movie Therese.
"Our Lord needs from us neither great deeds nor profound thoughts. Neither intelligence nor talents. He cherishes simplicity." "You know well enough that Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, nor even at their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them."

PopPop update

This afternoon PopPop is being discharged from the hospital but cannot return to his room at the assisted living home until he is able to stay steady on his feet and walk. So for now he is going to a nursing facility on Bainbridge Island until hopefully room will open up for him at one in Bremerton. Once he is assessed by a PT hopefully we will know more about how long he might have to stay there before he can go back "home". Thanks for all your prayers.
