Lavender Festival - Day 1

Today we spent the day up in Sequim, at the Lavender Festival. We look forward to this every year and it holds a special place in our hearts because it was the inspiration for our "lavender wedding" five years ago. We used lavender in all our flower arrangements and bouquets and centerpieces and party favors. It was perfect weather (even a bit chilly with the breezes). Today we went to three of the farms: Angel Farms, Lost Mountain Lavender and Port Williams Lavender. They were all so beautiful. At Angel Farms we enjoyed cutting a big bundle ourselves and tomorrow Angel has decided that we should go put them on Mamasan's grave (they were going to go behind my Mary statue...but how can I refuse such a sweet request...Mamasan would love it after all). At Lost Mountain Lavender we had some refreshing lavender lemonade and listened to some fun music and also found some neat vendors. We enjoyed some DELICIOUS white chocolate chip lavender ice cream at Port Williams Lavender and the fields of lavender and the gardens they had there were BEAUTIFUL!! We made it back to the Street Fair to enjoy some dinner while we listened to the band and did some looking at the vendor stands as well. We had some yummy lavender doughnuts and a fabulous lavender white mocha!! It was a very nice and fun way to celebrate our anniversary and the girls had a blast....although everyone is tired and we better get some sleep because we are going back tomorrow!! (lots of beautiful pics of the farms and girls in slide show!)

Five Fabulous Years

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe we have been married that long!! 3 moves, several jobs, and 2 kids later - here we are. We have experienced so much together, the good and the bad, happy and the sad. Marriage is definetly a journey and vocation that both people have to work (and pray!) hard to make successful. I am so blessed to have Jason as my partner and couldn't think of anyone else I would rather walk and experience the days of my life with....so here's to hopefully many more fabulous years!!

Friday Night Concert

Last night we LOVED listening to Trombanga at the Boardwalk concert. It was a bit chilly, especially down by the water. Good to see you John & Jenny there as well!! Look forward to next Friday's Irish music night! If you would like to hear Trombanga, they will be playing Tuesday night at Liberty Park in Poulsbo at 630pm.
