Caitlin's Bridal Shower

A couple weeks ago, we had Caitlin's Pampered Chef bridal shower. If anyone ever needs a FANTASTIC Pampered Chef consultant...call Julie, we have had her lots of times and she is wonderful!! It was a beautiful day and lots of fun. Our friends generously hosted it at their house and Megs, Alli and I enjoyed coming up with some games to totally embarrass Caitlin...what are sisters for?? Here are some pics and for more, check HERE.

Friend Christina and I

Sisters
Caitlin and soon to be mother-in-law, Audrey
Caitlin during this one game...I made up a list of cooking questions...some were super easy and some were impossibly hard (on purpose)...for every question she got right we gave her some fun cooking tools and for every question she got wrong, we added another element to her crazy attire...and at the end of it she had to get up and sing....check out the video of the song HERE.
We also played the game where we ask Caitlin questions about Casey (this time a lot were food oriented) and if she got one wrong she had to put a huge piece of bubbilicous gum in her mouth....quite amusing! Then we played a new game, the Left-Right Game....we changed the story a bit, but it was fun and a good way to give away prizes!! The last thing we did was read a poem that we wrote about our sister, Caitlin. It holds a lot of memories for us and when we would read certain lines or words, we had gag gifts that represented it to give her....for example for red lipstick we gave her some etc....below is the poem and the video. The last gift was a framed famous quote by Mother Teresa. Enjoy!!
the call came, the baby was here
a sister- not a brother!
can't we trade her for another?
but the bouncy gold curls
and big mud brown eyes
stole our hearts, to our surpirse
sweet little girl was an adventurous one
finding troubles and owies while still having fun.
Mamasan's lipstick was the perfect tool
to seal her entrance into clown school!
while helping make brownies this three year old learned
that hands on a hot stove will soon leave them burned
the doctor then ordered much gauze warpped around
and america's next greatest boxer was found
she also was stricken, again at age three
with a terrible hand foot and mouth disease
but no medicine would she take, no ice would she lick
but big bags of funguns for her did the trick
by her looks and her habits- which she picked up from the boys
she scorned the usual feminine toys
her hat always backwards- no deoderant would she use
by age seven she had her gender confused!
hanging out with the boys she tried to look cool
but poppin' a wheely only made her look like a fool
she hit the ground hard, what a mess she was in
and ended up at the er, three stiches in her chin
piano lessons were a bit to tame for her taste
but all that boundless energy would not go to waste
on the court and the field she found her true home
dreaming a dream she could call her own
though accomplished in making kills on the field
just show her a spider and see how she squeals!
her spirit was strong, her ankle not so much
after two surgeries she became fast friends with the crutch
transforming the jock into the belle of the ball
was no easy task, it took us all!!!
the eyelash curler was a little intense
for in girly things like makeup, she was a little bit dense
though she was much practiced in the pose of "don't touch the hair"
hairspray and mirrors made sure the hair was still there
at college in portland she arrieved on the scene
eager to become a part of the team
in her studies, on the field she always gave her best
and after four years she deserves a good rest
Oh how she's changed throughout all these years
Through triumphs and challenges, through laughter and tears
And now there is one who has stolen her heart
who will soon promise to love her til death do they part
Dear little sis- and big sis!
we stand here today
to embarrass you, sure- and wish you well on your way
You've conquered the crazinesses of life
with faith as your guide
Our prayer is you embark on this new adventure, too,
with Christ at your side
And so here are some words so live by
from one you admire
words to challenge and push you
higher and higher
at last our little poem must sadly come to an end
We love you, dude,
our sister, our friend.

WE LOVE YOU CAITLIN, IT WAS FUN!

What a Week

Whew....it was a busy week last week, but a good one! Mostly good because I am feeling SO much better. Thank you to everyone for all the prayers! The all-day nausea and sickness is now just occasional night time....so I will take that any day! Feeling very pregnant already for only 16 weeks and desperately trying to find some in-between clothes to wear!! Feeling better allowed me to actually get some things done last week and half of them were just plain fun ones....such as a wonderful visit with my friend Erin and her kiddies (her newborn baby boy is adorable), Emma's 18 month check up, a fun picnic lunch with kiddies and friend Christina at a local park, a fun picnic with family and girls at a local park on another sunny day, taking the girls to a small carnival which they LOVED and then a weekend full of fun times such as a hair cut, a bridal shower and just time together. Enjoying the warm weather and fresh air a lot!! Poor Emma came down with a fever on Monday night so we have been taking it easy the last couple of days...but this week's weather looks very promising again so hopefully can make it outdoors for some more fun in the sun!! Hoping to get caught up with some posts and pics here soon!!
