I hope they are dancing!

Today would have been the 57th Wedding Anniversary of my beloved Mamasan and PopPop. They were blessed to be able to share 52 of those years together. One of their favorite things to do their entire life was to ballroom dance, so I hope they are twirling around heaven enjoying one another today! Some pics I had fun looking at today.....miss and love you Mamasan and PopPop.

Trip Day One

For our 6 year anniversary this past weekend, we planned a fun little getaway trip to Port Townsend and Sequim with the kids....have not really been on a vacation....well...can't remember when. So Jason was able to get off work early on Friday which was huge because I hadn't packed yet and after we sat through traffic getting over the Hood Canal Bridge we were on our way! It was a little late when we arrived at our destination, The Harborside Inn, and we were not that trilled with the quality of the room, linens etc....at least for the price. But you live and learn....the tiny pool was outside and again not great quality but we had been promising the girls to go swimming so despite the cool weather and strong winds from the water....we went for a swim. This was the first time that the girls have been able to get in a big pool and they were a little timid but loved it at the same time. Angel's puddle jumper float worked well while Emma's arm floaties not so well. Not sure how I will ever be able to take them by myself if one doesn't start swimming soon....because they both want to hold on and need help! They were cold but didn't want to leave. Emma cracked us up the next morning because before she even said "Good Morning" she opened her eyes and said "swimming in the pool, please?" ! So cute.

Anniversary Memories

Today would have been my Mamasan and PopPop's 56th Wedding Anniversary. I was thinking about it today and it must be so hard to lose someone and have days like this pass without the person to share it with. I am so glad they were able to celebrate 52 of them together and I know Mamasan is watching over PopPop today and sending him her love and all the happy memories they shared over the years. I am so blessed to have such incredible examples of marriage and commitment as both sets of grandparents have celebrated over 50 years and parents over 30. Days like today make me thankful for the blessings I have in my marriage and the ability to share that every day with my special someone. I hope that PopPop feels the love of Mamasan still surround him and that of his family as well.

Young Love

Today Jason and I celebrate our 11 year anniversary of our first date. This is a picture taken during our first month dating...aahh...young love. Amazing in 11 years what we have come to learn, love, appreciate and still be surprised about with each other. We first met in 1995 at a youth conference at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Little did I know that he told his youth minister he met the girl he was going to marry (me) and proceeded to go home and break up with his girlfriend. He lived in Richmond and I in Virginia Beach so it wasn't until two years later that we met again. We ended up being on the same missions team to Mexico in August of 1997, and well a few weeks later had our first date (really exciting...we went to a park, although I did make cookies which have become his "favorite") and from then it was Erin & Jason...together forever, well 11 years and counting!!

Five Fabulous Years

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe we have been married that long!! 3 moves, several jobs, and 2 kids later - here we are. We have experienced so much together, the good and the bad, happy and the sad. Marriage is definetly a journey and vocation that both people have to work (and pray!) hard to make successful. I am so blessed to have Jason as my partner and couldn't think of anyone else I would rather walk and experience the days of my life with....so here's to hopefully many more fabulous years!!
