Fall time

I love this time of year when the weather is getting cooler and hot apple cider and hot chocolate just sound yummy. Slowly the inside of our house is starting to look like Fall...but a couple weeks ago we managed to get the outside flowers planted and decorations up. Angelica is just now warming up to the idea of the scarecrows on our front porch!! Hopefully soon we will be making cookies and carving pumpkins...so more pics to follow!!

Baby Hartsell Website

We have decided to do the Babyjellybean website again for this baby. We loved doing Angelica's and it is so much fun to look back at it. The site allows you to get an Archived CD of the entire website you created when you close it. So all the pics, messages from people, journal entries etc are all saved and look just like the site did. We keep it in Angel's baby book and I think she will treasure it when she gets older. So take a look.....you should be able to click HERE and get there. If not, go to www.babyjellybeans.com and then search for First Name: Baby and Last Name: Hartsell. Enjoy and please leave her messages!!

Belated Happy Birthdays...

I realized that I haven't been posting Happy Birthdays to our nieces and nephews....which made me also realize I need updated pics on all of them!! But this past month we had several birthdays to celebrate:Olivia turned the big ONE on September 19th
Miranda turned THREE on October 5th
Lexi (also Jason's goddaughter) turned FOUR on October 18th
Tyler turned 11 on the 20th
Happy Birthday guys, we miss and love you all!!

Testing...testing...123

Let's just say that Angelica is learning that she can now test the limits and rules that she has so obediently followed...she says it all with her eyes and facial expressions usually and mom and dad try not to laugh as we correct her...luckily she is so cute!! The other day this was so funny....
Angelica decided she was going to fight taking a nap for some reason. So she was quite fussy and I brought her into the computer room to play while I tried to get soem book work done. I told her she had to stay in the room with mommy if she wasn't going to take a nap. At one point...she walked over to the doorway, looked at me and with eyebrows raised and eyes staring right at mine...slowly dragged one foot over the open doorway area just to see if I really meant what I said....I can tell these toddler years are going to be lots of fun!!!

Big helper...

The other day we were trying to get ready to go do some errands. Jason and I were with Angelica in her room and told her we needed to change her diaper before we left. So she decided to help...she walked over to her diaper basket, pulled one out...opened it up...put in on the floor and sat her little bum right down on it and pulled it up around her. Then she looked at us as if to say "OK guys, now that that is done, can we go?" We laughed so hard....amazing how fast they learn and catch on to things!!

Pumpkin Patch...

Today we took advantage of the beautiful warm weather and went to a little local pumpkin patch. Let's see...Angel decided she was much more interested in picking out rocks and playing in dirt than picking pumpkins...she loved watching the goats and didn't like the scarecrows...

Mary Herring's Wedding...

Yesterday we attended the wedding of Mary Herring and Thomas Beuschel...it was a fun and beautiful event...

First Hair Cut...

Well, I finally got the courage to cut Angel's hair Friday night. It was starting to get very long and stringy looking on her neck and the top part finally had grown in enough to even up....so here are before and after shots and several in between. FYI - the Bumbo seat worked great to keep her sitting while I cut...along with a few M&Ms and Barney on the TV!!

Sleeping like an Angel...

31 weeks...and well....um...

...let's just hope it is a strong healthy baby making my tummy grow so big!! Angel loves kissing the baby and patting her mommy's big bump.
(looking at these pics, I realized I really need a hair cut!)

Birthday pics and recipes

We had a fun time celebrating Jason's birthday. He loves his gift mom made him as you can see from the picture. Angel had lots of fun helping with the festivities. Jason had his annual birthday Mexican Casserole, Cornbread and I made a new White Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake...SO GOOD!! (click on them to get recipes)

Saint Therese of Lisieux

Today is the celebration of the feast day of Saint Therese, known as the Little Flower. Click here for some great information on her story. I chose Saint Therese as my confirmation name and have always had a special devotion to her. Some great books are videos are: Story of a Soul, Story of a Family ( I really loved this book!!), and the movie Therese.
"Our Lord needs from us neither great deeds nor profound thoughts. Neither intelligence nor talents. He cherishes simplicity." "You know well enough that Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, nor even at their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them."

PopPop update

This afternoon PopPop is being discharged from the hospital but cannot return to his room at the assisted living home until he is able to stay steady on his feet and walk. So for now he is going to a nursing facility on Bainbridge Island until hopefully room will open up for him at one in Bremerton. Once he is assessed by a PT hopefully we will know more about how long he might have to stay there before he can go back "home". Thanks for all your prayers.

Sorry...more soccer shots

Yes, we were down in Portland again this Saturday watching my sister play soccer. They really needed to beat this team from Canada and they did...3-0, Caitlin had an assist!! It is a lot of fun to watch her play and Angelica enjoys playing on the field during half time, eating popcorn while watching, and even taking a snooze during the second half!!

Prayers for PopPop

My grandfather ended up having a bad fall this past week and spend Wednesday in the ER making sure he didn't have any broken bones etc. He has a huge bruise on his hip though and is quite painful. Then Friday he was back at the ER, they thought he was having strokes...he was admitted and is still there. He is mostly having issues with his vitals fluctuating too much and trying to stabilize his blood pressure, heart rate etc. He is anemic and very unstable on his feet right now. He may need to go tomorrow to a nursing facility until he is stable enough to go back to his home which he enjoys. All your prayers are appreciated and we will keep you posted.

Lovely ladies...

This week has been busy but fun. On Monday, I finally got to get together with a friend named Erin and her little 4 month old girl, Kaylie. It was so good to get caught up and hold that little one. We also enjoyed some lattes and this coffee cake recipe I tried, and recommend!!
Today, I got to meet my blogging buddy and new friend Ellie and her family who were in Bremerton for the day. (might recognize her from running the Coffee and Diapers site) She was so sweet and brought cloth diaper supplies to show me which I am pondering on trying...thanks Ellie!! It was so great to make this connection...look forward to meeting again. She will be doing my sisters wedding pictures in February also!! Thanks to her husband, Steve, for the great lunch place....all you local folks try it out...Boston's deli and pizza on corner of Burwell by the ferry. A couple runs it and all the food is authentic...yummers!!

Tiny thing...

Angel is very petite. Her Aunty Megs has been her Hanna Andersson clothes supplier since birth. Recently a very cute outfit was received...however, the shirt is still big on her, so I decided to make it into somewhat of a dress / long shirt with leggings...aren't we stylish?? one day the pants will fit too!

More Soccer....

Last weekend, we went to Olympia (at least is was a shorted drive than Portland) to watch my sis play soccer...they won!! (And she had an assist). Here are some cute pics of Angel decked out in her Nike Shirt and ready to play ball!!

Soccer times...

This past weekend we went to Portland to watch my sister play in two soccer games for her school, Concordia University. While I didn't do a great job at taking pics, here are a few to share!! You can read stats of all the games at this site. They won 7-0 and 1-0.

One fun ride....

Jason and Angel decided that a fun way to use her push cart was to make it into a fun ride. It was so funny to watch...Angel did it over and over again, too bad I couldn't get the whole ride on tape, but here are some pics and video to enjoy...gotta love our Thursday night entertainment...

Books I recommend...

Today reminded me of a great book, if you haven't read: Let's Roll, by Lisa Beamer. Sad, but very beautiful.
Another one I just finished (thanks Sue) and loved is: Amazing Grace for Mothers. Laughed, cried and just a good end of the day read!

We Remember...

Today, we remember all those that were lost both on the planes and in the towers. We remember and pray for their loved ones left behind...We thank all those that helped in the search and recovery...We honor those soldiers that have passed for this cause, we rejoice in those that have returned home safely, and pray for those that are still fighting for our freedom and protection. Some people might be gone and events have passed, but they are never forgotten.
