We had a great time Monday visiting with our friends, the O'Kray's, before they left to go back home to DC. Maddy and Angel had lots of fun playing and it was so good to catch up with Mary. Hopefully we can see each other again soon!

Learning to Bowl
Behind the Wheel
Hanna Hand Me Downs
Even though Angel was 8 months old and winter when she wore this, the cold weather allowed this tall 6 month old a chance to wear the snow dress too!!

Updates
Hard to believe it is June and we are still using the heat and wearing sweatshirts!! We have had a cold spell here this week and ready for some warmer weather, although the 100 degree heat our family is having back on the East Coast does not sound like fun.
Jason is eagerly waiting to start his new job with Boeing, probably won't happen until July as they need to do the paperwork and physicals and such. Still need to figure out how his commute and all will go, but we are excited about this change for us.
PopPop is doing alright back in his residence, although he has fallen once but did not injure anything. He still has to wear the brace on him arm and we try to get him to use the walker. Pepe is slowly recovering...has had some flare ups but hoping that with time things will smooth themselves out and he can get his energy level back up to normal. Me and the girls travel back to NYC with Caitlin to help my sister Megs set up her new apartment and have some fun bonding times!! (Am I crazy to make that trip again so soon?...hopefully we won't melt in the heat!) We had a nice weekend...on Saturday we celebrated with friends at their 35th wedding anniversary party...congrats Mahlers! It was great to catch up with people, see all the friends from out of town (including the O'Kray family which came over and visited this morning...good to see you guys, and Mary, send the pics you took!) and witness such a beautiful marriage and life the Mahler's have created and been blessed with. We got a lot of gardening done yesterday (and by request of my hubby, I may start a weekly post of Watching the Garden Grow...) and enjoyed Sunday fun and dinner at my parents. Hope life and the summer is treating everyone well!!

Rotten Robin
Well, for those that remember THIS exciting post, this empty nest is all we have to show for it. Apparently, some mean robins decided to pick on a little mother sparrow and then get her nest out of the hanging basket and take away the eggs. We are so sad as we were looking forward to watching the baby sparrows enter the world. Mother Nature can be so mean!!

Sing a Song
Can you guess what song this is? Angel has been very pleased with herself that she can sing it all by herself. We laugh every time she does something right, she congratulates herself by saying "Bravo Me!". Nice and handy to be your biggest fan!!

"Little Peanut"
Official Boeing Employee
Congrats to my hubby Jason...he just accepted a job as a Developmental Testing Mechanic with Boeing. The whole package sounded really good, but we were just debating the whole commute situation for awhile. So...while he will definitely have a long commute we are hoping that those hours will be able to help with studying or reading that he wants/needs to get done. He is very excited about the position and working with this great company...we will keep you posted!! Thanks for everyone's prayers!
Love these posts
This excerpt is from a comment from this great post!! (reminded me of how I felt at my sister's wedding in Feb!) "It is easy when faced with so many parenting choices to become immersed in the rightness of one dogma, to need to justify it over all other philosophies. But our role as fellow mothers is to support without judgment of each other, to allow for differences of philosophy." - The info in the comments sections also made me want to go buy a Baby Ergo...sounds amazing especially when the Moby doesn't work as well as they get bigger and the weather gets hotter!
THIS was the other post that had preceded the above one, LOVED IT.

New Baby!!
Congrats to Jolene and family. She delivered a healthy baby girl, Julianna Jolene, yesterday (on the baby's due date). Julianna weighed in at 6 lbs 9 ounces and 18.6 inches long. I posted this pic because the hospital site had the pic and info all wrong. Thanks Jolene for allowing me to visit and hold your new bundle of joy!! (and Happy birthday to you today!)

Interesting reads....
Usually I post things I find of interest on my sidebar if you want to read them, but these were very interesting....
As a former homeschooler....I say "how rude!" read THIS

THIS is a beautiful article and so important to remember the morals behind the decisions....thanks Mary for sharing.

Memorial Day
We had a nice Memorial Day at my folks house just spending time together. (After a trip to the mall to get a new cell phone because mine completely crashed and I lost everything!) We tried a new Strawberry Spinach Salad, and I made a new festive dessert and popcorn treat, click on pics for recipe. Emma also tried her first rice cereal!! Although, I think she got more on the bib and her face than in her tummy. We shall see how it goes...although Mama is in no hurry!! :) We also remembered all the brave men and women that have served our country (especially my grandpas, my daddy and my hubby) and all those that have lost their lives, especially Joel Lewis and recently a man here at our base that I briefly worked with when I was in Protocol, LT Jeff Ammon-who died in Afghanistan last week. He leaves a wife and two sons. We must remember that our freedom has never been "free". May God protect all of our soldiers today and everyday.

Dinner at the Park
Last night we all went to Evergreen Park by the water and had dinner there. The weather was perfect, although it did get a tad breezy and chilly by the water. Caitlin came with us and we all enjoyed relaxing, talking, eating and of course lots of playing!! Angel was in heaven with the kite, basketball, the playground and throwing rocks in the water. Looking forward to many more nights like this as the weather continues to stay nice.

Pepe update
Pepe successfully had the pacemaker put in and so far things are going smoothly. He is feeling a bit better and if his blood work comes back alright today they will let him go home!! Thanks for all the prayers!
