Water Fountain Park

This Sunday was also another warm and sunny day, so we decided to have a picnic dinner at the Bremerton Waterfront Water Fountain Park. The girls enjoyed playing in the water and watching all the other kids. The big fountain still scares them a bit when it erupts in the pools, but I think they will warm up to it. Looking forward to many visits here this summer!!!

Silverdale Sun

Saturday was a gorgeous, sunny day here in the Northwest. So we headed down to the Silverdale Waterfront and enjoyed some park time and throwing rocks in the water. The girls loved looking at the crabs crawling around, the clams and just seeing how far they could throw the rocks in the water. And even better...fun in the sun means good naps back at home!!!

Angel's Party At Last

Last week we were FINALLY able to celebrate Angel's birthday. We had kept putting it off because Jason was working so much shift work. We thought he was going to be done we planned the party for, but at the last minute he was not able to make it...:( We missed him but Angel had fun with her butterfly cake and all the family over...Megs and Albert were able to be a part of it before they left for NYC again. Angel really enjoyed the night...was excited that she had TWO cakes, enjoyed her requested spaghetti dinner, and got lots of neat toys including...a new puppet castle, a felt board and three little pig story, a tricycle, clothes, a drawing board, magnet dress up dolls and much more!! Thank you to everyone for making it a special day for her...and for other pics and cute video you must visit Meg's post.

Mothers Day

We had a nice family day (although it was different because poor hubby was still working the yucky shift work so he was able to go to mass with us in the morning and then leave again). After church we went and brought flowers to Mamasan's grave, Angel loves helping put them in!! Then we went to my parents house for the day....and thanks to mom who did all the food because I was really not feeling well that day at all! It was somewhat nice too so the girls played outside some. Mom made some mimosas (yes mine was NOT spiked) and we just enjoyed each other's company. It was Megs first Mothers Day as well so it was fun to celebrate with her. For dinner, our family friend, Father Cihak came and we thoroughly enjoyed catching up with him and spending Monday with him as well. For those who have not heard, READ THIS ARTICLE, as he is heading to Rome for possibly five years!! We wish him all the best!!

Missing Baby Albert

The girls and I are missing our baby Albert already...he has gotten so big and I know will change so much between now and August when we see him again. The girls loved holding him and kissing him and Emma loved calling him "boy". So cute!!

Big Sister Taking Charge

My sister Megs was in town and got some cute pics of my two girls playing....or as Megs says reminding her of she and I when we were young. The older one taking charge and "directing" the younger one on how to play.

Growing Girl

Angelica had her THIRD YEAR well child check the other day. She loved performing her tricks for the doctor and especially loves picking out stickers afterwards. She weighed in at 30 pounds and 36 inches long....still on the petite scale of things, but a very healthy girl!! Can't believe how mature our "baby" is getting!

Catch Up

Whew, what a CRAZY couple of weeks. Hoping to catch everyone up on all the happenings from Meg's and Albert's visit, to Caitlin's bridal shower, to Mother's Day, a visit from our friend Father Cihak, and FINALLY celebrating Angel's birthday with her party last night. Once I can get pictures downloaded and posts together, I will catch everyone up. It has been a long week with my dear hubby working those long 12 hour shifts again but this time for 10 days straight!! Poor guy. He would leave about 9 or so to catch the ferry to get to Everett to start his noon shift. Get off around midnight and home after 1 AM in the morning. Just enough time to eat, shower, sleep and do it all over again. We have missed him so much, especially the girls. They miss their play buddy (because mom's just don't play the same way!), their bath buddy (again just don't do it the same) and just having their papa around! I am so blessed to have a wonderful, hard working hubby and a great papa to our kids. I am also so thankful and blessed to my family as I spent most of the week at their house and had my mama cooking for me and Caitlin helping with baths at night!! Hoping to start feeling better and get some energy back now that the second trimester is starting!!

14 Weeks

I had an OB appointment yesterday and everything is going really well so far. I am hoping that the next four weeks are a lot better for me though with my "all-day sickness" getting less and less. I have started to feel better during the day and just get very tired and sick towards the evenings more. Smells are still the worst and peppermint has seemed to help fight the metallic taste I have in my mouth all the time. I was SURE that I had gained 5 pounds or so as nothing is fitting and I feel like I grew a belly already overnight....but to my surprise I haven't gained ONE pound!!! The doc said this is a normal feeling and occurrence for a third baby....and reading THIS POST totally helped me feel better about this changing body and put it all in perspective...so hard to do when you just feel sick and frumpy!!! Hoping to get out sometime and find some good in-between clothes!! My sister Caitlin and the girls came with me to the appointment and while the girls were a little confused and worried as to why mama was up on the doctor's table....Angel really liked hearing the baby's heartbeat!! At 164 - strong, healthy and perfect!! After the doctor left, Angel asked if the baby was ok? So cute and already a caring big sister!! Hard to believe this little once could already weigh close to one ounce and be 4 inches long!!! Thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers....keep them coming!

Congratulations Caitlin!!

Friday we headed down to Portland for my sister Caitlin's college graduation from Concordia University. I left about 1 with the girls and we caught the ferry down at Bainbridge Island. Both of them loved walking around the boat, watching the water and of course getting a snack!! Then we drove into Seattle to pick papa up at work and hit the road......only to run into a TON of Friday afternoon traffic. So by 7 pm we FINALLY arrived at our hotel and the girls were very glad to be out of the car and hugging their Aunt Caitlin. We had a late dinner at Applebees with Casey and his family and then hit the hay! Or at least tried to, but Emma was not doing very well with the unfamiliar setting and being overtired. Saturday morning Caitlin received an award for being chosen as the Exercise & Sports Science Graduate of the year....congrats! She also last week received an award for the 2009 female scholar athlete of the year. We got to the school's gym around 1030 and graduation started at 11 and she graduated magna cum laude (video below). We got some good pics and then all enjoyed lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We then went and helped pack some of Caitlin's stuff out of her apartment and then Jason, me and the girls went to mass with her before hitting the road for home....and Emma slept the whole way home!! A tiring but good day!!!

Happy Birthday to my "Baby"

Whew, what a crazy couple of days. Jason has been working 12 hour shifts at work, from noon to midnight...making me realize once again how much of a help he is to the family. The girls miss their bath time with their papa and play time before bed. Luckily he had a normal work day on Thursday, April 30th.....ANGELICA ROSE....turned THREE. So hard to believe that she is already this old. So many times I still consider her my baby but then realize she is a strong, beautiful, smart and growing girl. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and she makes us smile and laugh every day. She is mama's big helper and getting very excited about helping with the new baby. My sisters Meghan and Caitlin and baby Albert will all be in town this Wednesday so we decided to wait until then to have her party and her butterfly cake that she has requested. So on her birthday she got to go to Marmee's house to play for a bit...they had a lot of fun outside and Marmee gave her some toy frogs (and turtles) she has desperately been wanting to sing her frog song with. (will have to try and post a video later). Then I went and got her a special treat....her Strawberries and Cream drink from Starbucks....she thought she was a very big girl!! The girls both took really good naps and then when Jason got home we took her to Red Robin for dinner. She was not very fond of the life size Red Robin walking around! Then we took her to the pet store to pick out the fish she has been asking for for a long time. So....she picked out two, an orange one which she named Fred and a white one which she named Lily. She is a very good "mommy" to them and keeps telling us that we do not eat them because we do not eat our pets! She enjoyed listening to so many family members phone calls and opening all the cards that came in the mail....so thank you to all!! Happy Birthday sweet Angelica Rose, we love you so much!!

Missing the "Moo-Moos"

Well, Emma is officially done nursing (sniff sniff). I think mama is having a harder time with it than she is. About a week ago I realized that nursing was just getting to be more of a comfort for Emma than anything and I was getting so tired and feeling so sick with this pregnancy that it was time to wean. My goal has always been to nurse for one year and yet I remember with Angelica that I loved it so much we just kept going.....until I was 6 months pregnant with Emma and my milk production stopped. She was 16 months old. Emma had slowed down a lot anyways but still would like to nurse before naps and still quite often during the night. She has always been a strong, avid nurser so I was a little worried about the weaning process with her. So we started with the days.....and day one went perfectly fine...we just came up with a new nap time routine and she has had no problems. So then after three days of that I cut out the night time nursing....AAAHH....it was a LONG two nights!! I have always referred and taught the girls that nursing is called "yum-yums". A friend had recommended coming up with a term when I was pregnant with Angelica if I planned to nurse beyond the age that they could talk so we wouldn't get embarrassed in public with them demanding it. It has worked very nicely for us. Emma though has decided to always call nursing "moo-moos", so funny because we still said yum-yums. So we had two long nights of her screaming for the "moo-moos" and me desperately wanting to just give in....but I didn't. And she has gone over a week now with no moo-moos or yum-yums at all!! After 17 months of nursing my baby....it makes me a little sad, but I am trying to tell myself I have another hungry baby arriving in 6 months who will eagerly be anticipating the moo-moos....as will I!! It is such a special bonding time with the babes!!!

Side note: Emma still does not like regular milk unless it is chocolate....just like her PopPop did!
